UK people who love halloumi but eat it only in burgers... 1. We don't do that in Cyprus. Try in a pitta, then maybe you're being OK. I said maybe. 2. We also eat it as a dessert with watermelon. 3. Do not buy halloumi made from cow's milk or without mint on it. YIAX RE. OK?

To all the people asking about halloumi. I've brought a bunch of it with me from Cyprus. Anari too! The most disgusting thing about UK halloumi (almost always made by Pittas) is that it contains cow's milk and no mint. Halloumi in Cyprus is mix of goat & sheep milk. 🐐 🐑 🥛 pic.twitter.com/uJsmXxAXqR

But do you grill it when you put in a pitta or for Mezze? Personally I find the Greek/British cooked breakfast fusion of grilled halloumi, mushrooms, toast, olives an unbeatable start to the day?

We do it, it's just not something we do often. It's more of a restaurant thing. Or like if you are lighting your foukou anyway.

Grilling it in the oven's grill is probably going to dry it out way too much.

Hmmm. I will go for frying. Long standing debate with my family about whether Halloumi is nice (I'm pro) but they complain its "like rubber" which ... might be the point here.

We eat it grilled or char-grilled as a starter, in pitta bread, on toast, in a sandwich, in salads you name it.
