Of course there are exceptions and solid people went to public schools but few and far between. It's so shocking how almost everyone you know from the UK in the media is public school educated. Why do we put up with this classist bedrock in UK society?

I mean... "studies have shown that such schools still retain a degree of influence over the country's professional and social elite despite educating less than 10% of the population"

"71% of senior judges, 62% of senior armed forces officers, 55% of Whitehall permanent secretaries and 50% of members of the House of Lords had been privately educated."

And can we talk about "fags"? Younger boys serving older boys. "Under school rules, fagging might entail harsh discipline and corporal punishment when those were standard practices. Fagging was sometimes associated with sexual abuse by those older boys." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fagging

That's physical abuse in accordance with school rules. And this is a school you pay 10s of grand a year to send your kids. Why do we put up with people essentially trained to be abusive from childhood having positions of power?

INB4 somebody says we don't have fagging in the UK any more. We don't. But the baby boomers had it and they run the country.
