The embarrassing mess we are in is due to the 1974 invasion of Cyprus by the Turkish Army, who hold 34% per cent of the island and refuse to let it go. Maybe we should be addressing our concerns and coercions to Turkey, if they would accept such a thing? CYPRUS IS THE VICTIMhttps://twitter.com/o_guest/status/1134384823152316416 …
Greeks? I never said Greece did any ethnic cleansing although all NATO troops (Greece and Turkey) pretty much killed Cypriots (non-NATO country) because they knew each other from joint ops.

I meant the ethnic Greeks of Cyprus apologies. In any way the only way out of this mess is for both Greece and Turkey to fuck off. And Britain too.
-
I don't consider myself Greek. I find that assertion that I am ethnically Greek abhorrent given the context of the ethnic communities of the island and what "being Greek" insinuates.
-
It’s not really up to us. I agree with you in a perfect world, the Greek/Turkish part before Cypriot would disappear but for historical purposes it’s important since the island has been divided across ethnic lines evennin our own constitution.

It is up to us. My brother is Turkish-speaking and lived in Ankara for 6 months. And I also will start to learn Turkish as soon as I can.
-
I understand but legally it really isn’t. You’re Greek in the constitution and the law itself differentiates between the two communities. I’m not saying I agree I’m saying this is the reality of the situation right now and it won’t disappear without a solution to the Cyprob.

Same with the UN, they allowed many Cypriots to be killed because they didn't understand the conflict parameters.
