Neurodegeneration: A (rather creepy) video of a well trained generative network as neurons are turned off one by one https://vimeo.com/337909277 Would be interesting to compare this to a video back through time of the partially trained networks (on the way to final opening network).

Learn about systems by perturbation. Perturb by pruning. Alsohttps://deepmind.com/blog/understanding-deep-learning-through-neuron-deletion/ …

For those who might not know, there's a gigantic literature here (going back to at least the late 1970s) called "connectionist neuropsychology". I did my Ph.D. on it.

Haha. I wish I could say more but I am really busy today. Check out some of the review articles available though, for sure! For example: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1364661397010723 …

Looks like a good resource. This would be of interest to
@rrrlw,@emilyldolson,@andrewdhawan, and@CancerConnector: they are starting to think about modeling neurodegeneration and related effects and should clearly be chatting with@o_guest.1 reply 1 retweet 5 likes -

I think
@o_guest and@ProfData are great people to follow for a lucid view of structures, modules, and multilevel systems that's both neurocognitively ecological as well as of great interest to the artificial/analytic analogues1 reply 2 retweets 7 likes
Oh, thanks — gosh, honored! I have a very useful manuscript on this that I wish I could preprint — but at the moment can't for the "normal" reasons. But yes, please feel free to reach out any time! And I will make the manuscript available when I can.
