I just saw somebody, a peer, put their h-index in their CV. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little bit disturbed — "are they actually OK?"-level disturbed. Wow...

Oh, god, there's also some weird "slips" in this CV too. Why do I always notice things that are verifiably wrong in people's CVs? Makes me think everybody's CV has these "oopsies" (i.e., skewed towards making the person look a little/lot better) & prob even more than I can see...

In the tenure process in my faculty, mentioning the h-index is indeed obligatory - even a whole 'citation analysis'. I do recognize the inflation thing from some cv's (and Google Scholar profiles).
