I kind of like Unity

At the risk of being *that person* it’s not Unity in the photo, it’s Gnome 3. Ubuntu abandoned Unity in 18.04. You can customise it a lot if you install gnome-tweaks and gnome shell extension package from the package manager.

KDE, at least to me, has always looked like Microsoft Windows on drugs. That's not a bad thing.

Ok, that was definitely a dark time

Modern KDE has become its own thing though. I'd say it is probably halfway between windows 10 and macOS at this point. You can configure it to look a lot more like either as you see fit1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

I believe they call that "branding" these days. Plus didn't gnome have everything starting with G for a while?
It does feel like they are trying to get away from that now, but the weight of legacy means it will take a while1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
(and yes, most KDE native software I use still starts with a K)

I'm not a big Gnome fan but was it g or gn? Pulling shit like "gnotepad" or "gnincompoop" seems correct.
