I don’t expect queer or feminist people to necessarily be the answer to seeking a new circle, but you set the rules and standards in your life.

Two cis straight male friends remained (already bravely overcoming the obstacle that is me being trans). One of them broke up with me this year over one of the feminist discussions on your fb wall helm. He didn't like my (and yours) position. Things are impossible

I don’t know if this is a useful thought but over years I’ve stopped expecting people’s politics to be solid on paper to mean much if their heart is not in the right place.

They were my family. I didn't expect their heart not to be in its right place. Otherwise it's a useful thought. I'm trying and failing (*with* therapy) to acclimate to being a queer person without a queer family or even acquaintances/ network. It's suffocating and killing me

It's probably worth considering changing your geographic location...

My therapist thinks so too, but i'm tied down to Athens still. Also I don't understand why it's fair to leave greece on top of being canceled. That's like literal ostracism. But yes I can't afford to leave anyway

Fairness does not enter into matters of survival. I never wanted to leave Greece either

Absolutely. But I'm making ends meet here (or my gf is earning enough for both) and a move would help my social standing (maybe) but set us back to abject poverty again. Plus taking care of my parents. It's a mess, and ideally I wouldn't be starved of human contact in greece
