This is a problem with society then, not one specific person. Our society creates an environment where “nice” people can say and do unintentionally racist things. The lack of education and empathy for issues around race and gender is the culprit here.

Educating children about the issues creates a future society where the problems will be significantly less frequent. But imagine telling my gran, at 92, that she can’t make a specific joke any more. Doesn’t mean she’s racist for laughing at it for 92 years.
