So is it really just us modellers who have this tradition of learning through replicating even deep into postdocs and afterwards?

I'm all for replicating. However I see the difficulty with other fields. I worked with Parkinson's mice, experiments began 6-12 months in. If your attempting a PhD in 5 years (as most are) spending 2 years on 1 experiment doesn't look good. It's the system even if I disagree.pic.twitter.com/cnSat8zeWX

Extremely important point that the person who tweeted the advice should probably know about. I personally do not think there's any sense in a one size fits all science or advice for science.

Heard boss, just want to make other POV known. Anyy good scientist would like their work to be replicable. Just things like, time, money, pressure from academia, etc. Get in the way. Hopefully we start incorporating more modeling into sciences to point in the best direction.pic.twitter.com/a3rktvfnsw
