The 1st year I moved to London as a baby 21-year-old I tried to get the last tube, ran but failed. A young guy ran & missed it too & he not only took me to the night bus to he also gave me the change for it and told me what to do. He did not sit next to me or talk to me after.https://twitter.com/jane__bradley/status/1121514725454512133 …

I perceive Londoners to be very helpful. Whenever I carry heavy luggage there is someone who offers to help me and whenever I see someone carry a heavy bag I offer them help

Same for Paris (which can be very... uncharming otherwise) but not Berlin. I had started to wonder whether luggage was special, but dear Berlin showed me I was wrong. ;)

Berliners are helpful, but they are not very friendly. they kind of take pride in it. they also hate tourists. and bavarians or swabians.

Ha but beware,
@maria_ndrnh is right: you do recognize the real Berliner by the charming unfriendliness. It's a whole thing. Also yay, hope the September trip works out#jelly1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes
My impression of Berlin is they are cold and very distant compared to London. I have only been twice though!
