To senior academics who only follow & interact w/ people they consider ‘academic peers’, I’d like to say: I’m not impressed. You could try be less arrogant & perhaps learn new perspectives if you’d acknowledge the valuable contributions here from junior & marginalized people.

Similarly I’m careful to never follow anyone who has tens of thousands of followers but only follows forty people. Some people have only opinions to give and nothing to take.

Honest question: how does one measure thought leadership? I'm seeing more and more people describe themselves (on social media) as thought leaders, and I just don't know what that actually means.
