I recently got an email which said, below the signature line:
“This email does not need a reply.”
It was kinda radical - I don’t think I like it, but it was also a really nice way to end the “thank you for your email” niceties that I would probably have descended into

I don’t think it was below the automatic one - I think it was below their name. Something like: Best wishes, Kirstie This email does not need a reply <automated content here>

I will do this when it's true. Love it. ALTHOUGH I must say I feel like people treat my emails like this already and I feel there is a gendered component there.

What’s your perception of the gendered nature? Mine is that women are more likely to send the nice & polite emails where men just wouldn’t bother.....but I honestly don’t think it’s that strong an effect. But that’s in MY experience. Interested to know what yours is :)

I also think that sort of footer would be more likely to be seen as rude from a woman, less so for a man. Massive generalisations there. Not a strong opinion (in my opinion!)

All the above and I was thinking that, especially in the past, it's more likely my email gets no reply or is ignored.
