My parents brought me fresh Anari aka Nor from Cyprus... HOW CAN IT BE SO DELICIOUS. HOW.

I was able to find anari in London. It’s sometimes promoted as Cypriot Ricotta since not many people know anari or nor. Not the best though. Definitely not as good as fresh village anari
Yeah... not surprised... this is also ridiculously good. I am scared to open the fridge as I might eat it all. And then I guess I die of cholesterol.
No idea how it compares to the proper Cypriot stuff, but this might be better than average quality for the UK (the owner is Syrian). They call it "ricotta" but as their main product is a halloumi-style cheese it might be closer to anari. https://yorkshiredamacheese.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=33 …
I think that's actual ricotta (based on the photos)!
Anari can be sliced and doesn't really crumble even if fresh if it's been packaged like in the photo.pic.twitter.com/qMp6vSjenC
You can find some Cypriot brands in a store called Way2Save if you are interested. In Harlesden, West London
Also Jez... that Yorkshire one is cute but "100% fresh cow's milk". Nooo. So bad! I have a freezer full of halloumi for now hahah... and my fridge has 4 fresh anaris.
I can't consume cow's milk anyway but it's also partially why halloumi is so yucky in the UK. Cheap milk (cow instead of a mix of sheep and goat) makes for yucky halloumi/anari.
Sigh, going to have to find somewhere to buy some Anari/Nor now.
In the UK?
Nope, Australia. Luckily, we have a decent Greek population, so it might not be too hard.
There's a lot of Cypriots, yup. I don't think Greek people know this cheese. Report back!
I love it with teratsomelo, carob syrup
IIRC it's too sweet for my palette. But yes, definitely suits it well.
I love hallumi and the only one I’ve tried is the one they have here in Scotland. Maybe I’m happy that I haven’t tried the good stuff yet. Ignorance is bliss.
Haha. Probably!
