*Thread* I am a PhD researcher who only does open science and in my CV/applications I seem to be at a disadvantage.. 1/ After an accepted S1 Registered Report, 3 pre-registered studies in write-up stage & more, my publication record is still at N=1.

I spent my PhD replicating and hoping to improve/add to computational modelling work. I'd no first author journal pubs by the end. I still got a post doc position based on these skills. So I think there's hope because...

the job market has improved since (5 years ago) & PIs know what a good set of skills is. If you find a lab that wants your skills it's possible they can hire you IMHO. (Just to be clear though, I know our cases aren't identical.)

We are definitely moving forward in that respect. Tbh, the frustration behind the tweet came from grant searching. More and more ECRs are doing open science and yet funding applications don't account for it at all..1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes
Not sure I'm a computer science genius. Pretty sure I failed at least one module but was saved by my average grade that year so didn't need to retake.
