I didn’t experience UCL helping with it last year. They make you submit twice too - two initial copies for the examiners and once after corrections approved. I spent several £ on color printing

Ugh. So I'm wrong. And sorry.

Unless there’s a reason I didn’t know. ESRC at UCL definitely refused to cover it though.

I hadn’t considered this student cost/stress aspect but this is another good reason for switching to PDF’s - and maybe more persuasive than merely saving trees/planet

Yeah, I think so. Especially since paper isn't really hurting the planet that much. I mean the felled trees are planted to be felled.

Fair. But surely vivas aren't the worst offenders like me having a bath isn't really anything like agriculture and tourism for use of water?

No they aren’t, that’s true, but shouldn’t we makes changes wherever we can? Every little helps

Yes, and no — what a huge and political topic! The little change I would like to make is to vote in an MP who can change the law on stuff. I know more about water than paper, because where I am from has no water.

Definitely no way, for example, that everybody not having a bath will even dent agriculture water use. So I agree that little things help, but sadly it's mostly political little things and not using less water around the house.pic.twitter.com/E51FNOMSJo

I'm from West Asia where literally nothing I did back home (even though we sometimes only had running water 2-3 days per week only) could have helped. So I agree with you, but sadly, it's political stuff, which I know Twitter is a bad place to actually have conversations on.
