FWIW I think
@ucl does help its PhD students do this. Same should be true IMHO for MSc and undergrad binding if need be. It's not codling, it's actually what an employer would do. So you can argue it's preparing them for the correct expectations for what an employer should do. -
I didn’t experience UCL helping with it last year. They make you submit twice too - two initial copies for the examiners and once after corrections approved. I spent several £ on color printing

I hadn’t considered this student cost/stress aspect but this is another good reason for switching to PDF’s - and maybe more persuasive than merely saving trees/planet

Yeah, I think so. Especially since paper isn't really hurting the planet that much. I mean the felled trees are planted to be felled.

Fair. But surely vivas aren't the worst offenders like me having a bath isn't really anything like agriculture and tourism for use of water?
