I don't understand how ppl can think transparency itself with guard against the spread of pseudoscience. Pseudoscience can spread much fast when it is open to everyone and we all know that it takes disproportionate time to show published BS to be wrong.https://twitter.com/kph3k/status/1099455201126334464 …

W'd this be comp. to w/Mein Kampf should be publicly available? I'm thorn here - on the one hand (taking MK as a case), I don't want fascism to spread. The book can be a meme working like a virus. /1

Without context, it's hard to say. That book in a primary would be fucking disturbing. Young kids can be shaped by stuff in ways adults aren't usually.

that is true, good point. but yeah context, and how you present stuff - I think kids could learn eg about sexuality early on, but many people seen to think kids of young age are not ready for that. Depends on how you communicate the details of course.

In the same way you won't communicate sexuality by showing them porn, you don't explain, e.g., antiseminitism by reading them Mein Kampf.

Although that makes it sound porn is inherently bad which is not what I mean. I mean CONTEXT is super important.

You don't show kids porn. You don't show kids raw extracts from a genocidal war criminal Nazi's incoherent ramblings.
