It's more about high degree of experience and semantic knowledge. For instance, expert bird watchers and car experts similarly develop respective regional specialisation in visual regions.

Not really recognizing things like animals. Reading early, learning languages+playing piano. Drawing my own imaginary games (Sim City :D). Will think about this more

I was a bit shocked nobody bothered to look at the original authors work and/or didn't know/look up that cabbies don't use GPS hence why the original study was so nicely designed.
