I have to say, also having been involved in "freethinkers" and "(new) atheist" as well as "rationalist" groups (two of which I was admin/mod on and both had 2k+ members) I saw the slide into right-wing-ness.

It was very interesting to watch and that's probably why I can catch stuff now so early on. I am not unique in that obviously, but I have experienced that slide into what was then things like anarchocapitalism and on and on (before alt-right was called that).

Let's just say it was a rebellion and not a revolution, but the individuals were certainly revolting. HUE HUE HUE I can't believe they banned me from admin thinking it wouldn't mean 2k members would move to any new group I founded — LOL! This is the internet, people can move!
