And let's be honest, this not crediting of ppl for ideas that inspire you happens a lot; and from what I experience & hear, especially a lot to women scientists. Let's all do better. In this age of open science, surely you can cite blogposts. It's original intellectual material.

Note that it also enforces existing power structure and privileges. Who feels entitled to others people's ideas? Who gets away with not crediting people? Who can most easily be ignored and sidelined (even on their own expertise)? This is not equally distributed over scientists.
