How... how did this get through peer review? Is this what evolutionary behavioral scientists think of me? Is this a prevailing take? How can I describe my immediate and intense panic upon seeing this? Please tell me this eugenics crap is getting called out within the field...pic.twitter.com/5Ofk376lt0

As an affiliated member of @BehavEvol, I would be deeply comforted to know that my colleagues are as concerned about this (as a *published* study) as I am. That there is or will be a response and a genuine, proactive effort to keep eugenics out of behavioral and social sciences.

I'm scared people will say I'm overreacting, when clearly this is a systemic issue if the reviewers and EDITOR thought this was fit to print. These people are ostensibly my colleagues. I'm literally shaking. Please someone (who isn't Jewish or minoritized) call this out...

Oh double crap! I hope the R and Open Science communities call this out, too. Statistics are never fully objective. Science is never fully objective. No one should be allowed to do unethical science because of (in the name of) good analytical practices.pic.twitter.com/N1QVXeX22u

Thank you! It's so important to make these criticisms publicly so that we who are only peripherally involved in the field can see we ARE welcome, that this ISN'T the norm. I hope the editor faces blowback. And I hope others help their affected colleagues feel welcome and safe.https://twitter.com/emjosephs/status/1091688978053443584 …

I hope its comforting that there's been pushback from the population genetics community on this paper https://twitter.com/pastramimachine/status/1088917479840051200 … and on this kind of work in general https://twitter.com/DocEdge85/status/1081358427312447490 …

I’d like to hear from @CatherineSalmon, head editor at EBS. Were any reviewers with actual genetics expertise consulted? Did anyone consider how this work could be used to support antisemitism? https://twitter.com/LisaDeBruine/status/1091430104931147778 …

Thank you for the solidarity. I hope more will publicly join you. It is so exhausting when one feels like they're alone in the fight. (Which we aren't.)https://twitter.com/PribblePrabble/status/1091726883614531584 …

I am so tired of trying to prove the same argument over and over again, when scholars before me did it 25, 50, 100 years ago. Also, to my Jewish friends, I just want to send solidarity and support.
