Why is it when people talk about me on Twitter in contexts where they disagree they like to refer to me as "a Ph.D." something when they also have Ph.D.s? I guess they want to underline I don't have a permanent position? Nice fallacy — the disagreement is irrelevant to my job.

I thought that was a really odd description of your job too! I think it’s also to purposefully confuse the reader and make them fill in “PhD student” which is wrong on 2 fronts: 1: you aren’t a PhD student 2: PhD students know LOADS and so it’s *still* a weird thing to say.

I wouldn’t call myself a phd because im a phd student, I don’t think people fill that in? I would just take it’s them assuming I have expertise but maybe I’m naive

Im sorry thats happening to you and yhank you for bring this up. I run into similar, from different angles. I find its not just insulting, its also isolating...mostly men but sometimes women looking 2 discredit me instead of dealing w/research I've sited to support clinical (1)..

years in the field before I even touched my doctorate and 7years in specializing.....my well rounded and researched backed clinical opinion counts nada cuz Im not full time prof or researcher (like that means I dont kno good work vs BS when I see it). Then of course there's (3)
