What's the first philosophical question you can remember thinking? Mine: Why am I not someone else? What makes me *me*?

How do my friends know I exist when they’re not with me? is the first thing I remember thinking that would be addressed in a philosophy class. But when I was much younger I recall wondering what made some numbers big numbers and I think that was the germ of a philosophical worry.

I also remember, when I was ~7, wondering if the way English sounded to me was the way French sounded to native French speakers etc - i.e. if there's a phenomenology of "comprehensible language" and everyone is having that experience even while they can't understand each other.

Slightly related, but I'm bilingual and grew up in a bilingual household. There were times before caller ID I'd pick up the landline and it'd be gibberish until I realised they were speaking the other language, not the one I'd been expecting to hear.

So for a moment, I knew what English would have sounded like had I not ever learned it. Kind of. I guess!
