Dear #AcademicTwitter - want your thoughts. Working with a former student on publishing their thesis. We have a person on there who has:
- demanded they be second author for "reasons"
- made small comments once
- doesn't respond to emails about moving on in a timely manner
-
-
Is there a way to stop this for the future?
-
original tweets were as polite as possible - the emails only sent to the student were at best rude, at worst power play-bullying. I sent a strongly worded email about how these things were unacceptable and here’s an authorship agreement if you wish to continue.
-
Thankfully the APA has a nice one we can use if they continue to demand authorship along with some rules on how to determine authorship.
-
Nice work.
