Seems to be some indications these aren't consumer-level drones, but large commercial or custom-built ones. Probably why the culprits haven't been found nearby yet. No photos/videos public though, which is interesting.

What are the military going to do? Shoot it down with a fighter jet?

What's the battery life like on those things? If they haven't had to land and recharge several times I'm impressed. If they have then surely transport police could have stopped them?

Usually about half an hour or so. I've seen a couple of people suggest that they've been using multiple drones, but also the BBC is saying that they haven't seen any drones since lunchtime so I'm not sure what is keeping the airport shut.

They say its commercial grade though, whatever that even means.

I've seen some speculation that if you stripped all the unnecessary weight off something like a DJI Phantom (big drone used in filmmaking and photography) and strapped as many batteries to it as you could, it could probably do the flight time we've seen.
