Anybody else laughing at how the same constellation of scientists who retweet "robots/AI will take over and enslave us" also retweet "fuck ethics boards in science — ethics committees just slow me down without adding anything of value"?

i wonder how much of that sentiment comes from Americans vs UK scientists - my impression is broadly that both UCL and Imperial ethics boards are extremely good (i even saw a scientist praising the speed of the UCL board recently!). the US IRB process on the other hand...

Also I would not know from any first-hand experience. My research does not require ethical approval explicitly via the committee as I use other people's data always.
