Just because your code can run on different machines and at different times, does not solve the scientific aspects of replication.

seems like the normal hurly burly of social interaction to me - the "mangle of practice" :). no one is "read in" on everything and every use, so this is all negotiation and expectation adjustment. I think only community-based orgs have a chance of providing solid direction.
