Why are these so many logical positivists and scientism supporters around these days? What happened? Are we re-running the 20th century but with a different random seed and the tech BS parameter set higher?

I'd like to believe that I more of an empiricist. I don't see a problem with deductive and to some extent inductive logic as well, with a fair share of Occam's Razor. The only dilemma I've ever faced was with David Hume's argument against inductive logic.

The problem with Occam's razor is that it's basically impossible to apply outside a formal framework and even then...
