It's not about you, even if (you think) I paraphrased you. I've heard all these arguments before and it's not personal at all. I'm not calling you sexist, I'm calling the system sexist.
I wrote it so I don't have to tweet anymore about it — true for all my blog posts.

If you hate it, that's OK. That's what the Internet is all about IMHO. A place where even the worst views, like you think mine are, can be placed (not necessarily heard, of course). You can blog about how I'm so wrong. If you tweet at me about this, go ahead but it's strange.Show this thread -

Repeating this last one because of how much I have seen it from this small minority of people.Show this thread

Your post was quite convincing! I actually forwarded it to a fellow psychologist, trying to convince him to use it to convince his colleagues to change the way they teach programming in psych stats courses! It had some strong points that I never thought about, and well phrased!

Especially the part about personal sacrifices, that are necessary, if you want to change the word for the best. Here, we need to convince people who never used R to learn some R, so that they could work with students who use R. You offered some great motivation for that, I think!

Thank you! I'm so glad you're finding value in it.

Sorry it's so darn hard! but I'm sharing it with my students, they will appreciate it and it will help them think better about these issues!

Thank you. I hope they enjoy it!

Interesting! I also write to organise my thoughts, but the drivers towards organisation are (in no order): 1. Make my point accessible. 2. Make it as solid as I can (if I can). 3. Find out where it's weak. Thus "trying to be persuasive, while honest" sort of works for all three.

OK, sure, I mean I think that too? But yeah, I see where you are coming from. I see blogs as more informal.
