I entirely agree w all three of you, but I’d say that pre-reg in social psychology helps convince us that we have crappy theories and *because* of pre-reg May become convinced of the need of computational models.

That may be a good outcome. However, responses I've been seeing do not yet support this hopeful picture. And seeing the dogmatism so far, I am concerned that even when it does, it will just create a "cook book" modeling culture enforced by social shaming.
