I know, had a friend in that network who kept me informed. I sometimes reach out to some people who feel like that. I think I was trying to point out things easily get out of hand on twitter for everyone.
Two things: 1) Sure. Well, if there is anything I can do to make these profs who are scared me feel better let me know and I'll decide if their requests are sensible given the power dynamics. It's vague what you said so I am replying with a general statement about power here.
2) That's a kind of creepy thing to say and probably (definitely?) makes people scared. Already have exactly that from people who are horrified you think saying that you have an informant within their private discussions is not scary.
I said we had shared friends. You talked to people who also talked to me. That should hardly be surprising? No need to jump to 'an informant'.
Yeah, I know. But I am describing to you how what you say is being perceived. I thought that was the point that you claim that you are perceived as scary? I personally am not scared of you, but I totally get where they are coming from.
Are there specifics about Daniels scaryness? It might help to narrow focus. Obviously keeping confidences important here
Ask the man himself. I think given he speaks to these people more than I do prossibly, he might know even more than me!https://twitter.com/lakens/status/1060572438063329280 …
I was trying to be constructive there. But fair enough
