Every time I (and others) say there's s certain bro elements within certain #openscience circles (which I like to collectively call #bropenscience because they don't care about the inclusivity/diversity aspect of it) somebody will insunuate I am/we are against open science.

Co-sign. We have actually *seen* Richard being taken seriously when other voices were ignored, not so long ago. It had good effect. On the other hand, it may also be good to realize it can be painful for the people whose voices were ignored up to that point. I know it was for me.

You mean painful to see that the same message is ignored when coming from you than Richard? Yeah, that's awful. Sorry. Happened to me enough times. *offers hugs*

In this particular case (2 cases actually, now I think about it) it was mostly painful to see other people’s voices were being ignored and/or delegimitized, while Richard’s seem to have instant impact**. But yes in general indeed mine too. (** For which I was grateful ofc!)

It is very painful. It was for me as well when
@statsepi unfollowed me because I was speaking up about tone, even though we’d had quite a few positive exchanges before. I’m the one who’s blocked him now but it’s because he wasn’t willing to listen to me and other women. -
So I guess he’s now positively responding to
@richarddmorey’s comments here. It’s frustrating but also thanks Richard!
