The other day crows on the roof did like a seance or something. Like I thought it was a crow funeral, but they all flew away alive. One or two crows were in the middle and many (6?) sat in a circle around cawing really loudly for ages!
Any corvid experts know what that was?

So during fall and winter, as dusk approaches crows start to congregate together and make their way to their nightly roost. They are super chatty during these gathers though we have no idea what they’re saying. There’s a group at UW studying it, however.

My suspicion is that their physical orientation was purely a coincidence but if I could see a video I might interpret it differently. That’s my two cents as an expertpic.twitter.com/BdQL0N7xgk

Ah! I wish I had a photo. The one (or two) in the middle were not on their legs but looked like they were lying in their side. Why were they making such a big ruckus?

Ah, just saw above you said "no idea".
So interesting. -
Thank you for the info.
