Not linking to the article in question because people shouldn't be encouraged to read it? Thinking a pic is enough to base an opinion on? Science is all about not just believing what people tell, about digging deeper and making up your mind. This is not the way to go.

I think it's because the article it's not the point? And this isn't science, it's someone talking about her personal reasons to avoid certain discussions.

Yet as scientists, we should always aim to get the whole picture and not just a part of it. Actively and consciously trying to prevent that is not a scientist's attitude in my opinion, whatever the context.

May I ask, did you read the full blog, beginning until the end?

Yes, I did. Yet that's not the/my point. I wasn't talking transgender legislation, or Twitter aggression (which influences debates negatively, we all agree). I wasn't talking logical fallacies either. I was talking behaviour that in my opinion goes against a scientific attitude.pic.twitter.com/J6WCEHHOKU

I'm not sure how to reply to your comments without diverging entirely from the blog post's message and missing the author's point. I think that, regardless of your opinion on a minor issue in her blog (not a sci paper/communication), it's relevant to stick to the blog's subject.

And I get your point, the problem I see with it is that readers might generalise your comments to the whole content, and they might feel validated in demanding proofs/questioning her personal experience. So I appreciate that you clarified that you're talking about a diff subject.

I can't tell what your point is because just because somebody is a scientist doesn't mean they want to link to something they do not want to that one can readily find online anyway. Are you a scientism proponent, Natalie? Is that what this is about?
