Yeah that's a good point. With overleaf you can bypass installation issues you might encounter. Also it's a great way to collaborate!!

+1 for using beamer and overleaf. I once presented a journal review to a group of grad students. Received compliments and was asked to show them some tips. I was an undergrad at the time :-)

I use local even when I collaborate. Use a git repo on overleaf. It's beautiful.
