Guy is killed by dynamite thrown into a cave. Blast blows hole in wall of cave, allowing sunlight in. The seed of a fig he had eaten just before being killed grows into a fig tree, leading to his remains being identified.https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/murdered-mans-body-found-after-tree-unusual-for-the-area-grew-from-seed-in-his-stomach/ar-BBNACEq?ocid=sf …

In lieu of a Soudcloud link, here is a link to the page to the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus if you want more information on the cultural backstory behind this: http://www.cmp-cyprus.org/

So either a fig tree grew from the man's remains OR by just happenstance, a fig tree native to where the man comes from grew in a cave beside his dead body, pointing the way to his remains. Both possibilities seem pretty wild to me.

Josh added,
Every Casualty @everycasualtyAnother example of the many astounding ways in which#civcas can be identified, including decades after a conflict. In the past 12 years the Research Team has identified and returned the remains of 890 people killed in the 1963-74 conflict. https://twitter.com/JoshMLabelle/status/1043629729738317826 …1 reply 0 retweets 11 likesShow this thread
