It's awful, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't harm the baby. The teachings of the Church and its effect on society, especially in Cyprus, do demonstrably harm the baby.

I've been baptised in a cute church in Old Nicosia. Somehow managed to get the name Olivia too, even though it's not Church aproved.

-
Priests who violently dunk babies should be fired though. But I'm assuming it's not a job?

-
Oh, yeah, good point. The only good priest is Παγκράτιος.
-
Is there any precedent to firing one?
-
They eventually fired a convicted paedophile this year.
-
Oh, they did? I thought he got pardoned?
-
Yes, it took the victim's eventual suicide many years later for the decision to be revised to firing the priest.

The teachings of the church not so much if they stayed on" love each other as you do your own self" but unfortunately it just says that and then goes on to teach hate on the strange and different and a bunch of other horrible hateful stuff

-
Cyprus is so fucked up by the religiosity/conservatism of the average person and iron grip of the Church. Being away for two years 100%, and living away for 12, it's really obvious how screwed up it is.

We are really no different to all the Muslim countries we diss.. same shit different cover.
-
Cyprus is a Muslim country too of course.
-
By we i mean the "good christian orthodox " Greeks. I'm not neither of those. Good, or Christian or orthodox

-
I don't even identify as Greek.

The video just gave me a weird vibe.
Not defending priest or church in any way, lets make that clear.
I want baptisms banned anyway. Lol. Let them decide on their religion when they're old enough to make their own choices.
