Now that's not necessary, is it? In Ayia Napa, allegedly.

Why do I get a feel that this is on "fast forward"? Something feels "off" about it. That said the whole baptism thing is a horrible custom for the little babies whether they're violently dunked in water or not.

I think the priest himself is on fast forward. :-) But in all seriousness, the video is from last May and in my thread I have included a tweet from
@snopes that examines its authenticity. It doesn't consider it fake in any apparent way.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

I've read the linked article..... well most of it
.
The video just gave me a weird vibe.
Not defending priest or church in any way, lets make that clear.
I want baptisms banned anyway. Lol. Let them decide on their religion when they're old enough to make their own choices.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Let's at least make sure the experience is less traumatic. The broader issue you're raising is unlikely to gain political traction in the foreseeable future, unfortunately.

For sure. As a parent going through 3 of these baptisms was a truly nerve wrecking experience. For my wife, being a catholic, it was a shock (the first one, the others just a horror show). But yeah... this ain't changing any time soon.

Wait till you discover babies are operated on without anaesthetic.

So yeah, definitely not just the Churches that have a problem with babies. It's our whole culture.

That is truly horrifying. But still easier to change once enough facts and evidence is provided to prove that "yes, you douchers, babies feel pain". Science works like that. This can't be applied to dogmas that plainly reject science because it's a threat.

It's so complex, especially since medicine is not a science.

Medicine is method that can be based on tested and proven scientific facts and research. But I can also see how it usually isn't. Goes both ways i guess.
