Oh wow! Are there places to get the real deal in the UK?

seconded - where can I get the good stuff?
-
I don't know! I wish I did! Cypressa has one but it will not be as good as this one (sorry, but true). This one is so good there is no way am I grilling it. As my brother said "too good quality to grill".
Anari... which is amazing... no idea who makes this in the UK.

Never buy cow's milk ones as they are really awful. Pittas and Christis: avoid. Often on the back it tells you who made it and if it's any of those two, just avoid.
-
Also goat/sheep milk is better for IBS and for lactose intolerant people.

-
Cow's milk mixed with goat/sheep is also a heuristic that can be used to deduce it's gross. Avoid!
-
Also halloumi with no tiny mint on it: avoid.

Between your halloumi escapades and
@raulpacheco's taco posts, I may have to quit Twitter!pic.twitter.com/PQepZ2IKQm -
Hahahahaha "halloumi escapades".
"Growing up in Cyprus, my life from 0 to 18 consisted of various halloumi and anari escapades."

I miss this so much... Violife "Mediterranean Style Block" isn't quite the same.
-
I've found that the parmesan-style block makes a decent substitute for paneer in curries
