Yeah that was a pretty bad case of "If I don't understand then it's not real-itis" What's with the Cypriot dudes? Is it a "no true Scotsman" thing or more like the "fake gamer girl" thing? Just seems like a weird thing for anons to get aggressive over
Toxic masculinity. I think they had no idea people could be born in Cyprus to a Cypriot mother and not be legally Cypriot. And their male privilege didn't allow them to listen to my story (which actually isn't that rare)!
Yeah, that'll do it
How'd that happen, if you're not tired of explaining? (I had a look if you'd told anyone recently but no dice, the Cyprus pics are beautiful though! I'm especially a sucker for ancient ruins )
It's actually conceptually simple: Cypriot citizenship (and more) were only available patrilinealy.
Another point with that turd-boy!https://twitter.com/o_guest/status/986204178275069952 …
Yikes! That's a pretty terrible law to have on the books until 19 years ago :/ So if someone was born with no proof of who their father was were they just... stateless? Also, explaining female-specific citizenship issues to you has gotta be a contender for peak mansplaining XD
Haha, yeah. So Cyprus is incredibly corrupt and works under a full patron system and single mothers are incredibly incredibly rare let alone babies without a dad.
