Oh, Jeez. For the first time in a very long time (decades) I made the mistake of sleeping in my contacts. Such a weird string of emotions on waking up: ew, my eyes are groggy; oh, cool, somehow I'm able to see, like not just Gaussian noise, wha—fuck, I slept in my dailies.

Last time I did this, I still put my glasses on in the morning, and was super irritated when suddenly I saw less.

Oh, yeah. More than a decade ago I watched TV on my laptop (so near my face) wearing both spectacles and contacts. Took me a few episodes to realise what was up.

BTW if there're optics experts out there: how come if I look through my spectacles' lenses the other way (turn my glasses on the horizontal plane 180) I can see through them and my vision is corrected? Are the lenses bidirectional even though they aren't symmetrical? WTAF?

Lenses are witchcraft. Next time I'm saying: "it's not brain science, that's easy, it's fucking lensecraft!" when something is difficult.
