1/ I'm chronically ill, but it's something very few people know (now the world knows so...
) because I don't want to be treated "different" or be discriminated against on top of everything else.
It's fairly manageable, but every once in a while something goes awry.

2/ My parents didn't even know about it until last year because I was worried about them being additionally bummed. My brother has a chronic illness that is much, much more severe. Anywho, this morning it was a problem and I had to get some items addressed unexpectedly.

3/ This also meant cancelling some meetings very last-minute and feeling a bit embarrassed about it. All to say wow. I am so effin' grateful to now work with people and also have a partner who are SO respectful of this than the last time something bad happened 5 years ago.

5/ For anyone out there trying to "make it" in the world while juggling illness either personally or with someone close to you, know that you can. And moreover, there are people out there who are going to make you feel like you can't but many who are here to support and empower.
