This is a distinction I have to periodically look up too. I think ethics is related to rules and laws while morals are subjective beliefs about what is good/right. I think. I know I've also use unethical when I meant wrong regardless rules but didn't want to use immoral.

To my knowledge philosophers who study ethics deem the terms interchangeable, however, it seems that in common English there are some differences.
