Do you know more than 10 Muslims on a personal, regular conversation level? Asking for a friend.

Yeah tbh I'm trying to come up with a list of 10 people that I have personal, regular conversations with who are not part of my immediate family or in my lab and I don't think I can do it

BUT of the 3 people I can think of, one of them is Muslim. If that helps ahhahaha

I come close to 10 but certainly under... maybe 7 Muslims I speak to on a personal level. But as mentioned hard to know what is a personal level when I'm so antisocial, but it's the same level as other non-Muslims of "social" and "personal". Ha.

I am an outlier/unusual though I bet, as I am from Cyprus where 20% of people are Muslim and even though we live in essentially apartheid (
FFS it's 2018) we can get to chat.1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -
Good points! I talk to about 3 people on a daily basis (and 0 about 2-3 days out of week), but would would define "personal level" as "do we share a mutual friendship to the degree considering the other friends that do or would easily hang out, given the opportunity"?

I guess I should've put that last quote in the original question, hah. But to a degree, wanted to leave it up to those answering the question to decide.

Olivia, really glad to hear that (not about the apartheid aspect, of course, but that you maintain friendships). There's so many sad, decades-long scenarios like that around the world. Phillipines, South Asia, Gaza, Persia, Kurdistan,...

Cypriot Turks and Turkish Cypriots are a Muslim minority but a huge one for the EU. Sadly Turkish Cypriots have been subject to genocide though so it's very tough. Still Cyprus is why Turkish is an official EU language. The only Middle Eastern country in the EU.

Some OK-ish (can't promise it's 100% OK and not Islamophobic, it's Wikipedia afterall) context for the uninitiated: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_Cypriots …
