If you're talking about the same sets of things I am, there's a very strong MIT connection, and I imagine most of the labs/collabs are invitation-only. But nope, you're not the only one. It's odd...

The recent many-analysts one in AMPSS, I was part of and found it via Twitter. Hadn't met or had contact with any of the other authors before I joined, but most work happened in 2013 or 2014--so there was awhile between things happening and the paper now being published.

The issues raised here in this sub-thread are definitely real. And there are many intersecting issues.
@chbergma did contribute to a many labs project though, so maybe she can offer some insight from her perspective too.1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

Indeed, I think for ManyBabies we, particularly
@mcxfrank, have actively promoted openness at all stages, to me it was very important to avoid this in-group feel (which I could write a whole separate thread about). Very early on there was eg this blog post http://babieslearninglanguage.blogspot.com/2015/12/the-manybabies-project.html …1 reply 1 retweet 5 likes -
The idea has been discussed in a special session at one of the biggest conferences in the field a bit over 2 years ago, and people were invited to join the list and the discussion. There were open meetups at 3 conferences (Boston, Lyon, Philadelphia) to discuss ManyBabies.

Announcements over mailing lists called for participation, too. And of course there was a lot of word of mouth. But I've been contacted by people I didn't know about ManyBabies and see this as great success.

Regarding another reproducibility project, here is a blog post: https://cogtales.wordpress.com/2016/01/20/the-reproducibility-project-a-personal-account/ … Anna says she might have gotten involved through OSF, and she's not an old boy ;) (but should be part of any network, imo)

She was our first guest poster! And her post encouraged me to take an active role in a reproducibility project.
