They feel very much like an "old boys' club" kind of thing, honestly.

Indeed, I think for ManyBabies we, particularly
@mcxfrank, have actively promoted openness at all stages, to me it was very important to avoid this in-group feel (which I could write a whole separate thread about). Very early on there was eg this blog post http://babieslearninglanguage.blogspot.com/2015/12/the-manybabies-project.html … -
The idea has been discussed in a special session at one of the biggest conferences in the field a bit over 2 years ago, and people were invited to join the list and the discussion. There were open meetups at 3 conferences (Boston, Lyon, Philadelphia) to discuss ManyBabies.

Announcements over mailing lists called for participation, too. And of course there was a lot of word of mouth. But I've been contacted by people I didn't know about ManyBabies and see this as great success.

Regarding another reproducibility project, here is a blog post: https://cogtales.wordpress.com/2016/01/20/the-reproducibility-project-a-personal-account/ … Anna says she might have gotten involved through OSF, and she's not an old boy ;) (but should be part of any network, imo)

I love Anna! I forgot you did a feature on her at
@CogTalesTweet!

She was our first guest poster! And her post encouraged me to take an active role in a reproducibility project.
