I struggled to understand what my feelings were over the past few months — like I was emotionally dying, falling apart. I now realise I was/am homesick. I haven't been "home" in 2 years. But home is also dead, expired. Being an immigrant is so tough. *sigh*

I'm finally gonna be Cypriot legally soon. After 30 years.

-
do you reckon you'll relocate or simply use/abuse your dual citizenship to travel freely? That's my intention, I'm legally a citizen of UK and France but I only have a British passport atm - hopefully I can get my French docs soon...
-
Ha. Freely. As a Cypriot. Firstly, it's not the best passport to have. My mum wasn't allowed into Austrian until they saw it said Greek Cypriot. Even though T/Cs are EU citizens too. Also: no Turkey.
-
Well... No accounting for taste I suppose! Every Cypriot I've ever met has been charming
Besides, as a Greek Cypriot, I wouldnt imagine Turkey would be at the top of your vacation list?
Will you not be able to hold both UK and CY passports? -
I can have both. My brother lived in Turkey and my parents visited.
-
Ah cool, well in that case if you're travelling to somewhere like Turkey, you can use your UK passport! :-D I love Turkey, legitimately some of the warmest, friendliest & most generous hosts I've had - shame about Erdogan's increasing authoritarianism :-(
-
Yes, of course.
