You may not have picked the best place to adopt as your new home, all things considered

It's the only one I have a legal passport at the moment.
-
I'm finally gonna be Cypriot legally soon. After 30 years.

-
do you reckon you'll relocate or simply use/abuse your dual citizenship to travel freely? That's my intention, I'm legally a citizen of UK and France but I only have a British passport atm - hopefully I can get my French docs soon...
-
Ha. Freely. As a Cypriot. Firstly, it's not the best passport to have. My mum wasn't allowed into Austrian until they saw it said Greek Cypriot. Even though T/Cs are EU citizens too. Also: no Turkey.
-
Well... No accounting for taste I suppose! Every Cypriot I've ever met has been charming
Besides, as a Greek Cypriot, I wouldnt imagine Turkey would be at the top of your vacation list?
Will you not be able to hold both UK and CY passports? -
I can have both. My brother lived in Turkey and my parents visited.

I know the feeling. Not sure where home is anymore...

Just listening to Greek on the radio and I was in tears.

I've been "home" more recently than 2 years, but I feel that. And my "home" is a garbage place to begin with.
-
Oh, yeah, mine too. Genocidal maniacs.

You're not alone. I've been away for 9 years and its still tough. Unless you make the decision to permanently integrate into the new country it will remain an unscratchable itch. Hang in there. It does get better.
