I always think of “you guys” as pertaining to both sexes, like the Southern y’all. Is that just in my dialect?https://twitter.com/zerdeve/status/1031585840562991104 …

doesn't work with my posh-boy slightly-Scottish accent

I don’t think it works for anyone from outside of the southern States. “Y’all” is there just one notch below “folks” on the Cringy Group Pronouns Scale imo

Each to their own :)

I'm not crazy about "yall"/"folks" (too USA), but ANYTHING is better than guys. I personally use "you all", "everybody", "everyone", anything BUT "guys" — it's just too cringe as well as IMHO exclusionary especially in a male environment which is where I am all the time.
