The bouldering equivalent of lifting calluses - something to be proud of!
-
-
-
I think calluses are the same for bouldering.
-
Do you get them more on fingers or across the top of palm? I wonder if a different pattern - this could be a Sherlock Holmes hand inspection deduction technique!
-
Me personally? They look the same as from lifting.
-
So under every knuckle. If you bouldering in one go a lot then your skin can peel off anywhere, e.g., fingertips. But that's if you weight more (skin is the same "quality" but more weight on it) or if you do lots in one go.
-
You also can tape them to prevent this. See this, no gross images: https://www.archclimbingwall.com/magazine-backend/2016/4/15/to-tape-or-not-to-tape …
-
Do not Google "skin injury bouldering" if you don't wanna see really scary stuff.
-
*weigh more than me! I'm lucky enough not to get injured as easily as I'm lighter than my partner who is much taller.
